Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Innovation Strategy

Strategy framework

The UQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research and Innovation Strategy sets out a vision for UQ to leverage research as a tool of empowerment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations.

We will achieve this vision through nurturing a respectful and supportive environment alongside a broad and robust program of research and innovation.

Achieving the vision

The strategy sets a framework:

  • for UQ to excel as a national and international leader in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research and innovation
  • to support career progression for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers.

The strategy was developed in 2020, with broad input from across the UQ community. Staff who are leading action items have access to an implementation guide to assist with progress and reporting on the action plan.
