Payment of examiners

We’re grateful for the significant contribution you make to the quality of our research and offer the payment of an honorarium.

Honorarium amounts are recommended by Universities Australia. You’ll be paid into the bank account you nominate when accepting our invitation.

Requesting payment

To receive an honorarium, indicate your preference when accepting your invitation to examine a candidate.

If you missed this step when accepting our invitation, or you have changed your mind and would like to be paid, email (include your candidate’s name and/or case ID if possible).

Receiving your payment

You’ll be paid 4 to 6 weeks after receipt of your written report or after receipt of the Chair’s report (if an oral examination is involved).

Payments to bank accounts outside Australia are made through Western Union and do not carry UQ identifiers.

Payment issues

If you haven’t been paid despite providing all the relevant information, email (include your candidate’s name and/or case ID if possible).
