Climate change network
UQ has deep expertise across its faculties and institutes to shape responses to the pressing global challenge of climate change
Our capabilities and impact
UQ's research encompasses technical climate modelling, as well as how to adapt responses to climate change impacts on biodiversity, agriculture, built environments, the health sector, and people and communities. Our researchers have the expertise to respond to climate change through business and finance, law and policy, and political processes.
Ecosystems
Ecosystems are studied for climate change effects, including biodiversity's role in mitigating impacts and assessing risks for future development in environments.

Health
Climate change affects human health through natural and social systems, altering living conditions and survival. Addressing health risks aids and informs intervention strategies.

Policy, politics, and law
Addressing climate change requires legal, policy, and communication strategies for societal support. UQ's network leverages existing expertise on policy, politics and law.

People and communities
Individuals, communities, and Indigenous peoples influence climate change responses through actions and beliefs; inclusive decision-making is key at all societal levels.

Sustainable built environment
UQ researchers are developing climate-friendly cities through low-carbon buildings and circular economy solutions to enhance environmental and social outcomes.

Agriculture, land, and resource use
Food production within climate variability and resource scarcity is challenging, UQ leads innovative agriculture solutions, emphasising climate-resilient systems.

Business and finance
To create a sustainable future, UQ researchers equip stakeholders with practical strategies for achieving net zero commitments in business and finance.

Climate science
Researchers at UQ study climate events like bushfires and collaborate with government on regional climate modelling to predict future extreme events.
Receive updates from the network
UQ has a wealth of knowledge in its faculties and institutes to tackle the urgent global issue of climate change.
