Services
The National Biologics Facility (NBF) was established through the NCRIS program to assist academic and industrial researchers to bridge the gap between research discoveries and the bioprocesses required to produce material for pre-clinical studies.
The facility produces high-quality recombinant proteins, with a focus on biologics and vaccines for pre-clinical studies. The NBF specialises in use of mammalian cell expression technology for proteins with potential therapeutic or commercial uses.
Activities and services include:
- protein and antibody engineering
- antibody discovery through phage display
- molecular biology
- transient expression of proteins in CHO and HEK cells
- stable cell line development, creating cell lines suitable for GMP manufacture of product
- upstream bioprocessing
- downstream bioprocessing
- protein purification
- protein analytics.

Services
StemCore is a core facility specialising in the generation and genetic modification of pluripotent stem cells. Supported by funding from BPA/NCRIS, the Queensland Government and the University of Queensland (UQ), StemCore facilitates disease modelling and functional genomics research both within UQ and throughout Australia.
These services include the provision of human Embryonic Stem Cell lines (hESCs), custom-generated human induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSCs), and hESCs and hiPSCs genetically engineered using CRISPR/Cas and other technologies.
Furthermore, we provide comprehensive training in a wide range of procedures related to the maintenance and expansion of hESCs and iPSCs, in addition to a range of other stem cell and gene editing-associated research support activities.
