Partner with Global Change Scholars

Collaborate with PhD students to develop solutions to your industry challenges.

Global Change Scholars Program

The Global Change Scholars Industry Challenge offers a unique opportunity for public sector organisations to partner with PhD students to research and respond to an important issue.

Each year, PhD students from across UQ’s faculties and institutes engage in the Global Change Scholars Program. The program cultivates future leaders, experienced in transdisciplinary research to make a real-world impact.

The Industry Challenge provides an opportunity for scholars to collaborate with people and organisations that understand the problems intimately.

Why partner with us

Partnering with PhD students from the Global Change Scholars Program provides the following benefits.

Leaders in research

Unlock world-class research expertise at UQ, with scholars supported by our Graduate School and the Global Change Institute.

Real-world issues

Address long-standing, imminent or unique industry challenges by collaborating with PhD students.

Engage with scholars who apply their diverse perspectives, expertise and life experience to complex issues.

Strategic planning

Implement recommendations for action or use findings to support and inform policy submissions and future planning.

Become an industry partner

Global Change Scholars work in small transdisciplinary teams to address issues identified by our partners. Throughout the program teams work with organisations to understand issues, develop a project plan, and deliver a report.

We call for projects in July each year. To learn more about partnering with us, contact:
