Australian Research Council

Australian Research Council (ARC) funding is competitively awarded to researchers working in all academic fields except health and medical research.

The ARC requires researchers to submit grant applications via their institutition's research office. At UQ, this is the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) within UQ Research and Innovation (UQR&I).

The OSR is also responsible for the central administration of successful ARC grants, including grant establishment and lodgement of post-award variations and ARC progress and final reports.

ARC scheme information

The ARC has recently announced that from November 2018 all researchers will be able to auto-populate their research output data into their RMS person profiles and application forms by using their ORCID, with the first scheme using the new functionality to be Discovery Projects (DP) for funding in 2020. Further information on the changes is available from the ARC website. UQR&I has a dedicated ORCID Integration Update Sheet, and scheme pages for each individual ARC funding scheme with useful information and resources.
