Overview

The Westpac Research Fellowship offer early career researchers a unique opportunity to support their groundbreaking research, provide access to networks, open career pathways and global experiences. Successful Fellows will be undertaking research that has the ability to make a difference to Australia’s future in one of the Westpac Scholars Trust’s priority areas:

  • Enabling positive social change;
  • Technology and innovation; or
  • Strengthening Australia-Asia ties.

Changes from previous rounds

  1. The fellowship funding will no longer be tied to salary only. This will allow another option for those Fellows who also have other salary funding. The value of the WRF would remain the same for all Fellows, but removing the requirement for the funding to go to salary, the Fellow will have more options around what will best support them to have the greatest impact.
  2. The WRF funding may be used over a period of three to maximum of five years. By extending the timeframe, the Fellow will be able to utilise the WRF funds over five years in a manner that best leverages other funding options during the period.
  3. The Leadership 360 Program is now compulsory for all Research Fellows.
  4. The Westpac Scholars Trust will conduct a yearly Westpac Research Fellowship development
    workshop.
