A genetic blueprint for breast cancer

14 May 2020

UQ has secured over $5.7 million in government funding under the Medical Research Future Fund's (MRFF) Genomics Health Futures Mission for three projects that will advance the diagnosis of breast cancer, paediatric sepsis, and study the ethics of genomics and disabilities.

Professor Sunil Lakhani, Head of the Molecular Breast Group at UQ's Centre for Clinical Research and Executive Director of Research, Pathology Queensland, says the grant will help establish the infrastructure that will allow more individualised treatments to become the standard of care for breast cancer patients.
