Human Ethics Unit

Ethics approval is essential for staff and students conducting research with or about people, their data, or tissue. Approval is required before there is any interaction with participants or their data. This review is usually conducted by one of the University’s two formally appointed Human Research Ethics Committees (HRECs) which meet regularly throughout the year.
