  • UQ Research and Innovation (UQR&I) information session: 31 August 2017
  • Some administering units may have an internal EOI closing date. Prospective applicants are advised to contact the relevant unit well in advance of the deadline to confirm the timeframe
  • Full applications due to host School/Centre/Institute: 22 September 2017
  • Faculty/Institute recommendations and rankings due to UQR&I: 27 October 2017
  • Anticipated announcement: late November 2017

Overview

The UQ Early Career Researcher (ECR) Grants Scheme provides support for early career researchers while at the same time remaining committed to research excellence. The scheme funds, on a competitive basis, high quality research projects of modest financial cost from early career researchers, and is intended as a means of generating external research support.

How to apply

Some administering units may have an internal Expression of Interest process, so it is important to contact them well in advance of the deadline to confirm the timeframe.

  • Step 1: Familiarise yourself with the key UQ documentation.
  • Step 2: Complete your application using UQR&I Online Forms
  • Step 3: Submit your completed and validated Application Form to the host School/Centre/Institute, using the online system.

Using UQR&I Online Forms

  • To create an application, navigate to the UQR&I Online Forms log in page
  • Log in and navigate to the ‘Home’ page. Use the ‘New Form’ link on the left of the screen to create a new application
  • Select ‘UQ Early Career Researcher Grants 2018’ as the application form type, then begin completing your proposal
  • Complete all sections, including any PDF uploads (using the templates below) as required
  • Once complete, the Application Form should be validated and submitted to the School/Centre/Institute.
