The CRFs are intended to support Queensland Health clinician researchers undertake research linked to their practice. The program recognises that clinician researchers (including doctors, nurses, dentists, allied health practitioners and clinical scientists) are uniquely placed to identify clinical issues that can benefit from further research, lead patient focussed research discoveries and facilitate improved patient care through research translation.

How to apply

Internal notice of intent process

All researchers intending to submit an Advancing Queensland Industry Research Fellowship application for funding in 2021 are required to submit an internal Notice of Intent. NOIs will be collated centrally and distributed to Faculties and Institutes in order to provide maximum support to the UQ research community. 

Step 1:  Scheme reading

  • Familiarise yourself with the key Queensland Health and UQ documentation (see links below).

Step 2: Completing the application

  • Download and complete the Application Form available from the Queensland Health webpage.
  • Prepare the required supporting documentation including Letters of Support (templates below).

Step 3: UQ R&I internal review and feedback

  • In advance of internal review, ensure all required documentation is complete and certified, where necessary.
  • To initiate internal review, email your completed and certified Application Coversheet, draft Application Form and draft Letters of Support as word documents to UQ R&I at
  • UQ R&I will perform an internal review for compliance, eligibility and grantsmanship, and will provide feedback.

Step 4: Final submission

  • Email your finalised Application Form with all required attachments to UQ R&I at
  • After final checks, UQ R&I will submit your application on your behalf.
